We saw a megadeal through September 2024 as Trimble’s precision agriculture business merged with AGCO’s JCA Technologies unit through a $2B deal to establish a new joint venture that’s 85% owned by AGCO. This new company will be able to better serve farmers with factory fit and retrofit applications in the mixed-fleet precision agriculture market.

In September, DigitalBeef, a developer of livestock record-keeping and breed association management software, was acquired by 701x to expand its service capabilities and offer new products to its customers.

In August, Drivewyze, a provider of commercial truck management software, was sold to Bestpass-Fleetworthy Solutions to expand its portfolio and to enable it to offer a one-stop shop for fleet management services.

In July, Energy Computer Systems, a developer of operations and asset management software for electric transmission and distribution companies, was pocketed by QEI for $6M. This deal strengthens its position in the North American electric utility market and enhances its advanced distribution management system capabilities.
