Shenzhen Autocruis Technology Sells Majority Stake To Samvardhana Motherson's Subsidiary SMR Automotive

Announced: June 2026 Deal Value: $22.6M

In June, Shenzhen Autocruis Technology, a Chinese company designing and developing automotive vision and camera-based systems, sold a 65% majority stake to India-based automotive component manufacturer SMR Automotive, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson, for $22.6 million at 5.5 times EV to sales. This deal will see SMR Automotive utilize Shenzhen Autocruis Technology’s camera monitoring, full digital mirror, surround-view, and driver monitoring systems along with digital video recorder features to improve road safety for OEMs and aftermarket customers covering both commercial and passenger vehicles. That stake will later grow to 68% through a stock buyback program initiated by Shenzhen Autocruis Technology.

In June, SewerAI, a US-based AI platform for sewer and underground infrastructure intelligence that equips utilities, contractors and engineering firms with AI-powered software to inspect, assess and rehabilitate sewer and underground infrastructure, secured a majority investment from a consortium led by JMI Equity to provide the firm with additional resources to fix and maintain neglected infrastructure. Other investors include includes Innovius Capital, Epic Ventures, and Bentley Systems that along with JMI Equity are keen on growing their exposure to a space using AI-powered software to maintain mission-critical infrastructure for municipalities and other end users.
